moto x play is heating and at the same time battery is draining

my moto x play is heating and at the same time battery is draining it is not happening very often but it is happening for sometimes and it recovers when I restart my mobile and it happens again.

Hello and welcome to the forums! Check your battery stats and see if any app is taking an unusually high percentage. It could be some app running wild or some sync/upload process running in the background. Is this phone brand new?
