Moto X Pure camera app vs Google camera app?

I had the first Moto X and loved that camera app mostly for how easy it was to zoom in. You just slide your finger up and down the screen. Also you tap the screen to take the picture. I'm not sure if that changed in the Pure Edition but I hate Google's Camera app because it doesn't do either of those things. Having to use two fingers to zoom in is absurd to me. I can deal with having to press a button to the the picture but not the zoom. I am currently in search of a good camera app that has a better zoom option. If only I could put the Moto camera app on my Nexus 5X.

Edit: I actually sideloaded the Moto Camera app and it works. I feel like it's a little slow to load and swiping left to view the pictures seems to be slow but i'll take it. Zooming with one finger and tapping the screen to take the picture is a wonderful thing.

I like both being able to store my photos directly on my SD card and the gesture launch: so I use the Moto Camera.

I use the Motorola Camera app. Quick to launch and take a photo.

I'm conflicted on this. I like that the Moto app is easier to open with the twist launch, and easier to zoom with just a slide up, but going into the gallery directly from the app causes a small lag EVERY time and it bothers me lol. The Google cam slides seamlessly into photos for viewing your gallery, I wish motos was better in this regard. Also, Google's editing tools are better as well as the cool modes like photosphere and lens blur. I bounce back and forth honestly.

The Moto App is pretty basic, but it has the nice gesture to open. Google camera is a bit better. Open Camera is a good and relatively fast alternative for those that want to alter some settings. Camera FV-5 is a bit buggy.
The problem is with Motorola and the Camera 2 api. The camera has great potential, but the absence of full manual control is a big drawback (especially for night photos).
