Guys:
Trying to move away from the whole Samsung world (Galaxy S5), and really like the look / feel / experience, of the Moto X Pure, but I'm a little concerned about how this phone will hold up in real world use, like my S5 has.

The S5 has been really good when I just throw it in my back pocket and go about my day. I haven't worried about it getting wet, or being in a dusty environment, and about the occasional drop (it is in a case). There is a lot of extreme torture tests on the S5, but haven't found similar on the Pure.

I'm pulled mightily toward the near "pure" android experience, and timely updates, but really concerned if it will hold up.

Thoughts?

I've owned two Pures. The first met it's untimely death from a 3 foot fall on asphalt, killed the screen. My second one has been a real trooper. I too throw it in my back pocket, a bag with other goodies in it, sometimes it'll fall out of my pocket when I'm working on the car or doing labor intensive things will crouching or sitting. No damage and has held up fine. I don't use cases either but this one has a screen protector on it. So to answer your question, I believe you'd be fine switching to a better phone like the Pure.

If you use it a lot - Angry Birds 2 gaming for example - the phone tends to warm up. Like 108F...

I'm not sure how this will impact durability but I'm guessing it will.

As for the "pure" experience... A lot of the pure apps are stone age pure.

Overall I like mine.
