Hi all,

Just being a bit paranoid, but if I am to buy a moto x I'll probably buy it form a UK retailer called carphone warehouse and get it sim free. Just wanted to check that these will be eligible for the 6.0 update. I remember reading some where about carrier ones not being eligible for update.

P.S. Should of mentioned that it will be of course sim free

Thanks for all your help in advance

James

Hi James, welcome to the forums! The X Style is one of the first phones in line to get the Marshmallow update. Yesterday it was announced that the OTA update is already on in Brazil and India. Being an unlocked phone the update will arrive pretty soon.

Thank you! Basically I just wanted to check that I will get the update even though I am not buying direct from moto

Thinking of buying this one myself from the same place! It's either the moto or a lg4? What's your overall impression of the moto x style?

I couldn't decide which to buy either. Bought the 6P. Loved the build quality and materials, the camera, and the fingerprint scanner, as well as knowing it would always be up to date. Trouble is I missed the Moto features from my Moto X 2013 so I bought a Moto X Style instead. Love the build and the camera on this too, but now I miss the scanner but often use Smart Lock at home. Now I want a 6P again. First world problems hey!

psteve2005 why do you want the 6P back is it just for the scanner?

Combination of scanner and knowing you're always up to date. I've since in fact done a straight swap - Moto X Style for a 5X and I love it. Didn't think I would coming from a 6P but its a cracking little device.

Curios, where did you do the straight swap?
