Moto X vs Droid Mini: Active Notifications [video]

Active Notifications on the X and Mini act differently because of the Mini's LCD screen. I posted a short video showing the difference: Moto X v Droid Mini Active Notifications - YouTube. I'm posting the same vid in the Moto X forum and on XDA.

Thanks for that, no wonder the mini has a notification light. I assume you own both phones? My fianc? has the mini, I'm still on my Razr Maxx and torn on which to choose.

Yeah I have the mini on Verizon and the X on AT&T. Strongly considering ditching AT&T. I buy way too many phones and waste way too much time with them, so going to vzw would help me curb that addiction (way less phones), and it also has better service in my area.

Frankly I like the mini better than the X. I love notification LEDs, and I also prefer the size. Software wise they are nearly identical. I wish the Mini had an AMOLED screen instead of LCD, but that's about it.

I'm kind of liking the brighter LCD screen of the Mini - I have the Moto & the wife has the Mini - When u compare them side by side, white print & backgrounds are much brighter more vivid, at least for my old eyes Black backgrounds on the Mini, though not as deep, are not too bad for a LCD.

I agree with all of that. LCD definitely has some advantages. I've just gotten used to the pure blacks and oversaturated colors of AMOLED

I really dig the Moto X but at $100 the Droid Mini undercuts the other Motos in a big way.
