I can't get bionic motoprint to recognize my hp wireless printer. If I goto the workstations, it finds login but I don't use a password for my win7, so i'm stuck. I really don't want to start using a pw.
If I just use the find printers...no printer found. I have an excellent wireless connection.
I can't imagine this being such a chore.

Add a password in windows. Set up the printer. Then remove the password in windows. Shouldn't be this much work, but that worked for me.

It worked until I rebooted my computer. Now it wants a password again. I liked it while it was working but it seems like a pretty inconvenient bug

wish I could help. I have a wireless HP Office Jet 7410 and it works fine with the Bionic. Not sure what all the talk is about passwords. I don't need to have any PC on to use the printer...

I'm also having a hard time getting motoprint to work. It recognizes my printer fine but it isn't supported, so I had to download host service program to my computer. After rebooting the comp and the phone, the phone will just search but won't find the host program. Any ideas on this?

One theory I have is that it could have to do with the ports opening up on my comp. When the host program installed it asked permission to open like 3 different ports up, which I let it do. So I think maybe they might not have been configured correctly, but I don't know how to check that, and didn't catch the numbers of the ports. The program itself gives you no options, just sits in the task tray letting you know its on but I don't see how to configure it or anything.

Got mine to work. The user name is case sensitive(I feel kinda like an idiot) I don't use a password, but when i put my user name in(correctly capitalized) it worked just fine. Now I'm Motoprinting away!!

Funny thing is, when I had put the password on my PC, it didn't matter that my user name wasn't capitalized correctly. Odd

Does it NEED to be a wi-fi printer or will a printer connecting to my network (and enabled via sharing work)? I have 2 printers on my wireless network and can print to them just fine on my laptop, but I cannot get MotoPrint to work. After I type my log-in and password (Its the EXACT same thing as the name on the Windows start up screen and the password you enter, correct) it says that it failed to connect.

I connected to non wireless several printers at work. They are connectEd via wired network card.

Is MotoPrint host required? Any idea why it would say "Failed to connect"?

EDIT: Downloaded MotoPrint Host on the PC and now it works fine. Is it required to do this for all computers to connect to the printers on the network?

Not for wireless printers, per my comment above.

exactly because wireless printers are not shared over a network via a pc. They connect direct to the router. When your phone has to pass thru a computer to get to the printer then you need the host software.

I turned on my Wi-Fi, opened the motoprint app, had the app search for my printer (HP Photosmart Plus B210a). Found it no problem, began printing. Very easy.

Remember, you can only do wireless printing over 2 devices that are on the same Wi-Fi network

its not a bug, you dont have your computer configured the way your wanting it to work, go to the part where you enable file/printing sharing, then below that check the box to not require a password

It worked until I rebooted my computer. Now it wants a password again. I liked it while it was working but it seems like a pretty inconvenient bug

I have MOTOPRINT installed on my PC and a wireless HP 6500 wirless printer. The BIONIC shows the printer but when I go to print a dialog box comes up with "Please insert SD card". Isn't the SD card factory installed? Yes, this is my first smart phone!
