Alright, I unboxed this case on Saturday 05/07/11 and my first reactions were all positive.
The Positive:
The case is very sleek and fits the phone very well. The cutouts match up precisely with the phone. The phone fit easily into the case and there was no pulling/twisting/stretching required to get the phone in the case. The silicone case gives a nice protective layer against bumps and scrapes. The case slides easily into and out of your pockets and doesn't "stick" in your pocket like some of the rubber cases. The overall size of the case is great and didn't interfere with the fingerprint scanner like some other bulky cases and allowed the headphones to sit nicely in the headphone jack. The etching in the design is nice and attractive without being too gawky. The pricing is fair at only $16.99. For the person who finds themselves in "low risk" situations, this is really a good, attractive case for the Motorola Atrix.
The Negative:
The silicone is very stretchy and throughout the day I would constantly find a corner or two of the phone out of the case when I pulled it out of my pocket. Just the body heat from being in my pocket caused the case to "expand" and no longer fit the phone in the manner I would like to see. This is in contrast to the Speck case that fits snuggly on the phone regardless of conditions (granted, the Speck case is bulkier). I would like to see a cutout around the primary microphone instead of the tab that is there now.
Bottom Line
I could see myself using this as my "stepping out" case for nights on the town but not for my day to day case. The design is sleek and very attractive but doesn't offer the level of protection I need for daily use. If you are looking for something to protect your phone from scratches from you keys/change/etc in your pocket/purse or when sitting on the table top this is the case for you. If you are looking for the next level of protection I would look elsewhere or wait for Rearth to come up with something a little more rigid/form fitting.
