I'm sure everyone has notice this. But why did Motorola basically make the same phone that is already out (HTC EVO)?. Besides the fact that it doesnt have a HDMI port or a front facing camera, and probably a couple other things too. Its sad that Verizon wants to be on the same phone level of sprints HTC EVO, but thats just not gonna happen. Thoughts?????

I take it you're an Evo owner? You might as well ask America why we copied Rugby and called it Football.

Silly posters =/

Are you really actually seriously bemoaning the fact that another manufacturer is making a beast of an Android handset? SERIOUSLY?!?!?!?

I should have guessed this forum is just like any other, people being a bunch of assholes, nothing new. And to Droid800, if you actually read, i said im not knocking on Android.

Where did I say you were? What I said was that its odd that someone is actually complaining about another powerful handset coming to market, let alone a powerful android handset. I just don't think I've ever really seen someone complaining about too many high quality and powerful smartphones being introduced.

No. This forum is not like the others. In the future, just hit the report post button -- Jeremy and Cory have an excellent system in place and most times things will be addressed immediately. Welcome to Android Central.

Now, quit bickering. Have fun. Express yourself, and if you feel like something needs addressed -- use button :)

I think HTC and Motorola built the same different phone lol. The Evo is like an Audi. It's fast, but the focus is on style and an information/social networking portal.

Moto tried that, and called it Blur. It didn't work :p . Rather than copy an existing style of UI, they went the other way. Moto Android phones are like a 67 Chevelle. They're big. They're square. They're fast as hell, but lack the little touches that come on the new Audi. And that worked. And from the looks of things, it works even better than ever before.

You have to decide what you want. I'm not a young'un any more. I was a smoother, slower Audi. I'll try to hack some more speed into it. Others may want the raw power of the Chevelle. Then they try to hack in the little extras.

Nice comparison! I like it lol

Actually it does have an HDMI port. That phone was in development long before the EVO released so it isn't really a copy.

Why did LG copy Sony when they made their 42" LCD HDTV? :P

There are only so many permutations before someone copies something somewhere... it doesn't even have to be intentional. Both the EVO and the X are, in a way, copies of every other slate-style phone out there. Same form factor, essentially, as the Nexus, iPhone, etc. It's technology evolving in parallel...

There's a saying... great minds think alike. And I'd bet that HTC and Moto have some pretty darned great minds working for them.

I can't stand it when people try to belittle other phones just because their carrier doesn't have it......

They are both great phones!! Just choose the network that is better for you!

We should be happy that other manufacturers are pushing the limit....this increases competition and HTC will come up with a better phone next time....it really is a win-win situation

True, never really thought of it that way. I do hope Android one day will just crush the iphone. I mean, they have nice phones now that can compete, but for some reason people go with iphone. I understand its a big name(apple), but people need change, and iphone doesn't really do that, its like they made the same phone 4 times, lol
