If there is no screen protector on it, I'd take it to a verizon store. They should be able to diagnose that as a hardware issue pretty quick and give you a replacement. Make sure it's a NEW replacement, not a refurb. I'm not really against refurbs (3/4's are returned by 1diots who have a software conflict issue and have gone through 12 devices before moving on), but if you've had the phone less than 30 days, you should get a NEW replacement,

Dirty screen? Wet Fingers? Wet spots on screen? Those are some issues I have seen with DX's screen not working correctly.
