I primarily use an iPhone, and my main phone is the iPhone 16 Pro Max. However, I'm considering getting an Android as my second phone. I'm confused between choosing a Motorola or a Pixel. I won't be using this phone much; I just want to experience the latest features of Android. The Pixel is a bit more expensive, priced between $600 and $1,000, while the Motorola ranges from $200 to $300.

Should I buy the Motorola? Is it worth it? I've never used a Motorola before, so I’m wondering if it has good features. Considering its lower price, is it even worth buying?

I've had both. I strongly dislike the pixel after using both for over a year.. software was really clunky too on the pixel. The moto g power is kinda slow out of the box.. after removing apps/debloating it works very decent if you're not gaming. I also strongly recommend getting a screen protector for moto g... shattered my screen over something pretty small... I looked at the drop tests on youtube for comparison and I can conclude the screen is pretty weak.

So many small things I can't do in pixels.. The reason I like the moto phone is: maybe I'm just used to android 11.. maybe it's the headphone jack.. maybe the pixel is missing the quick flashlight by shaking the phone (moto feature).. maybe it's being able to use the volume mixer.. different volumes for each app on smartphone (which alos kinda lets me bypass lowering the volume.. works on every other android I've had).. maybe it's the many software bugs that make the pixel feel cheap (home button is sometimes in the wrong place lol .. like horizontal home button visually should be portrait sometimes) .. maybe it's annoying to have a system thermometer app that takes over 500MB ... like that is an insane waste of space on a phone that only has 128GB of space (pixel). .. maybe .. with my situation, having this phone's bootloader locked is annoying.. another big issue: this pixel drains all my battery because the camera app keeps running when i turn off the phone with the power button... i turn it on 2 hours later... my phone is really hot, and camera is just still there. so many annoying small things about this phone... also, the internet button at the top ... is just so weird. it turns off wifi and cellular data at the same time... small thing, but everything just takes more clicks on a pixel for some reason. the split screen on this pixel is so awful ... I'm surprised this is the result of pixel android 14... like geez, I try to spilt an app, I go to the home screen.. it forgets my selection. not on any other android phone I've ever had.. also the spilt screen rarely stays together when clicking on it from multitasker.. usually it crashes. I could seriously go on and on about how questionable this phone is.

Thought I'd chime in my opinion, because this Pixel feels like the worst phone I've ever had by a long shot. And I'd say the pixel gets too much credit.. I've even had someone walking up to me saying... that's a weird phone... yeah, I agree!! Maybe it's just their newer phones..

Also the price.. this pixel was way overpriced also.. and a worse experience at the same time. It's noticeably faster.. that's about it (there are other brands that can be much faster for similar price).. The moto g power has a crazy amazing battery life, but it's slow (probably a underclocked cpu?), but it has a lot of things I'd expect from a smartphone.

In my experience, Motorola is superior feature-.wise but the Pixel has far better build-quality. As for timely updates, they are at opposite ends of the spectrum, with Pixels being the first to receive them and Motorola being among the last.

Since it won't be your primary phone, I don't think you can go wrong either way.
