Motorola Razr battery dies fast

I have a razr that is running on 4.1.2. The battery life is terrible and will not last half of the day while mobile data is enabled. I have a smart action the disables background data while the screen is off to try and help. Odd part is that if I use wifi, then the phone battery will last all day with no problem. My cell signal is great. I have done a clear cache, and a full factory reset. I do not understand the battery issue. Have any ideas on what may be causing this?

Do you get a good 4G signal, or does it waffle between 4G and 3G? If it's waffling, the phone may be using more battery struggling to get that 4G signal. The signal bars for your cell reception won't always correlate with 4G reception, so this could still be an issue despite having a great cell signal.

Could you post a screenshot of your battery stats when it's mostly drained after a day's use? Having 4G on all of the time can be a significant power suck, since 4G uses more battery than 3G, so I'm not sure your experience is all that unusual. I will get a screenshot of that tomorrow. It has not acted this way its whole life, it used to last all day for me using 4g. Maybe it just used to work unusually good haha

Maybe you installed an app recently that's doing a lot of web refreshing while the phone is idle?

I'm not sure how Motorola phones work, but I've upgraded the radio software on my HTC One several times and some have had noticeably worse battery life than others.

Have you downloaded any system updates recently?

No updates. It did it a while ago, so i did the factory reset. once that was performed, the performance did not improve.
