Motorola razr m dialer code wont work

I wasnt even sure what to title this one. I have a motorola razr m running
android 4.4.2 thats rooted. When i try to use the *#*#4636#*#* code in the dialer, it just
dissaperes. This code supposedly opens up a menu that can change the data mode to CDMA only (different story) but the menu never opens. Anybody have the same problem?
