motorola triumph keyboard

i was closing some apps to improve perfomance in my mt. when i went to use the keyboard, it changed to the android 3.2 keyboard. i did not recall installing it. the keyboard had a terrible performance and because i could not change it back (or could not in the settings) i intalled android 4.0 keyboard. it started force closing so i unistalled it but when i went to use the keyboard again, the 4.0 keyboard was popping out as the default keyboard even when i desintall it. has this happen to anyone? my phone is not rooted. i have the stock room. the keyboard it currently shows is good but can anyone explain me what happened? How did my phone changed and later "absorsed" a new keyboard?

There's a spot in settings for default keyboard whatever is set is what it will be and you pick from keyboards you have checked as for the glitches maybe to many changes needed to reboot

From your homescreen
Menu>settings>>languages and keyboard> check whichever keyboard you want.

I'm guessing you've already done that through, and still need help. I do also recommend a reboot, but after that, I'm unsure.
