Looks like it?s going to be a good weekend, as we?re hearing that Verizon is beginning to receive Motorola Xoom units already. Initially only dummy units were spotted, but it looks like the real deal is hitting some stores to make way for its official debut next week.

Wondering whether I should even preorder at best buy now. Might be able to get a deal at Verizon. Like a free case or waived activation fee.

My sales rep at the Verizon Wireless corporate store I shop at already stated he would waive my activation fee, but he didn't say for sure when they would be in. I I think I am gonna go ahead and pre-order at best buy just to make sure I have it on Thursday.

Pre-order doesn't guarantee you'll get it on Thursday. If it's not released, Best Buy can't sell them. But, I am 99% sure it'll launch Thursday at Best Buy, VZW, and Costco. I'm not even pre-ordering because I'm pretty darn sure they're not gonna sell out at my local Verizon store, or even Costco, when they wave activation fees and don't require the data plan...even though I'll be buying one.

I'm not too worried about sellouts either. Advertising hasn't been that heavy, and I think it'll just be the earliest adopters getting one at this point. Like me. :)

Are you saying though that Costco will be waiving the activation fee and not requiring a data plan? The no-activation-fee part wouldn't surprise me, but Costco does require a month's data (I believe) for the Galaxy Tab. So, I'm expecting it with the Xoom...

I heard they're giving a $35 rebate for the activation fee, but I didn't know that about the Tab requirement. I guess Verizon is the only place that doesn't actually require the data plan at purchase.

So can you activate this puppy, get your one month, walk outside call Verizon and cancel it all? Do you get your money back or does your data just end after one month?

Verizon just told me we need the one month also. They need to get it together.

BB#1 = 6 already in stock (can i pick it up today?, No Sir im sorry)

BB#2 = 6 no stock yet (so he says)
That's why it bothers me that I'm #9 on the list at my Best Buy. I certainly hope they get more than 6, but they better give me one Thursday if I'm first through the door.

I am first on the list at my local BB (I have the pre-order sheet to prove it), and I will be first at the door. I figure I will get there at least 3 hours before opening.

Where are you seeing the number on the sheet? I don't see any number on the one I received from BB.
