Mouthpiece garbled

Last few weeks my z3c has gotten more and more difficult for people to hear me speaking. I tried rinsing it out. I don't see anything visibly in there. Any ideas?

On a related note, since switching to lollipop, my phone crashes occasionally where it never did before. I wonder if this is related??

1. could be your case.
2. don't speak so close to mic.
3. wipe cache partition.
4. uninstall all unused and suspect apps.
5. always best to do a factory reset after OS update. back up/sync your data first.

If all else fails do a warranty exchange. I had to do it because my headphone jack was distorting after the lollipop update.
