move contracted locked phone to GoPhone prepaid

Anyone know if you can take an ATT locked phone, where the contact was canceled before the 2 year agreement ended, onto a prepaid GoPhone plan?

Was the early termination fee paid? If yes, there shouldn't be a problem. If no, it's probably on a black list and there will be a problem.

Also if its not paid off it will show up on the your credit report as an owed balance. Not worth the headache down the road IMO. Just pay it and move on. OR work it out with att before it becomes super late.
