After a disappointing try of the LG V20 (great device - but I found out too late my company doesn't support it for our proprietary email - https://forums.androidcentral.com/lg-v20/866363-want-lgv20-but-vzw-making-difficult.html#post6152109), I'm now looking at transitioning from the S6 to the S8, S8+ and Note 8, with a strong lean towards the Note 8 (especially with the current $200 discount at VZW).

Anyone else here switch from the S6 to the Note 8, and if so, any regrets or confirmations?

TIA

I use the Note 8 for personal and work and couldn't be happier. Company uses office 365 with Citrix/Boxer for mobile phone secure email and it works flawlessly.

I've even been able to wean myself off of paper because I use the Note 8 w/stylus for meeting notes (which is handy if my machine is busy due to projecting PowerPoints etc.) I've even been gently reminded as I leave meeting rooms on a couple of occasions - by my phone - that I've left the stylus behind. Amazing phone!

Note 8 is an incredible device. Moving from an S6 you will be very pleased. Only issue I might see is becoming accustomed to the larger and longer form factor. If you like larger phones this shouldn't be too big of a deal.

This is a powerhouse of a phone.

The S6 is a great phone; but I think moving from that to an S8-series phone or to a Note 8 would be a worthwhile upgrade. Either way you go, you would have a premium, good device.

If you are leaning towards the Note 8, here is its spec sheet from GSM Arena. 6.3" screen, 3300 mAh... Good overall phone! And with that kind of a deal from Verizon, I'd say you got a home run, there!

from S6 to Note 8 is a total no brainer if you ask me, you will feel like you just did time travel

I have started using mine for meeting note taking also. It is awesome and so much neater than notebooks. Not to mention always on hand.

I pulled the trigger. Activating it and setting it up a bit later. Thanks to all for the feedback!

At this point you might as well wait for the S9 and see if you'll like that over the Note 8.

If you need the stylus it's a no brainer: Note 8. Otherwise be sure you're comfortable with the size. It's BIG!

I thought about it - but waiting that long would be too tough. Bought the Note 8 today.

I moved to the Note 8 from the Note 4 (which is 6 months behind the S6) and you will definately see the difference, and the Note 4 was no slouch!
Enjoy the phone, it's a great device and apart from not having a removable battery (which no new phones seem to have these days) it's the perfect device for me.

And I thought I was the only one. That's why I didn't jump on the 8 when it came out, but since I've waited so long (and have read and reread the "no removable battery" handwriting on the wall), I think I'll wait for the Note 9. It can't be worse than the 8, and if it's no better the 8 will still be available (and probably a lot cheaper by October).

Congratulations! :D welcome to the club!

I hope you are comfortable with the size of the Note8, that is my main warning to anyone going for it. I love large phones so I am very happy with it but many are not so fond of its size and the square shape, it's a bold device with a lot of presence.

I happily useine for work and personal stuff, handles everything beautifully.

It should work just fine with your work email.
