Hi,

I am currently and iPhone user and want to move off AT&T and the iPhone.

I will likely to go back to Verizon. I am wondering if anyone has any thoughts on whether I should move now or wait until LTE service is available? Also, will unlimited data options be available on LTE?

Thoughts?

thanks,

jerry

Man I just switched from At&t to Verizon. Why? At&t service is so bad. I had an iphone 4. Once you move to Verizon you know how much you were missing (but paying the same).

My advice: Run don't walk.

I agree. I was with Verizon before and want to go back. But since I need to live with the phone for a year or so I am worried about getting stuck with a "slow" phone.

welcome jerry! honestly, if you really want to get away from the big orange, then you might as well go for it now. there is an awesome crop of android phones currently available on vzw right now, and even with just 3g, they are plenty fast. LTE should be pretty neat, but who knows what the plan structure will be like and how many kinks may or may not need to be worked out. any phone you get now will serve you well for at least a year, if not longer, and when it does come time for an LTE upgrade, there will be even bigger and badder phones on the market. if it were me, i would jump now and get a droid x or a fascinate, but thats just my 2 cents.

Well, you have answer that question. How important is LTE to you? Is it worth waiting for an indefinite time period while you stick with at&t? Are you in one of Verizon's announced initial LTE markets? We can't tell you if it's worth it to you or not to wait.

Probably not but you can make your own call using the usual rumor mills to form an opinion.

Thanks guys.

I am in one of the LTE launch markets (San Francisco area) and also travel another one (Boston), so this is a tough choice. I saw a demo of a laptop with the LTE card and it was amazing. Everything was very fast.

One thing I do know is that if I do decide to go for a Verizon phone now I will get a 1 year contract.

Not sure if you can do this but what if you bought a phone 2nd hand or outright(full price) so you didnt have to sign a contract and then when the LTE phones come out get one at the discount price and sign a contract then. I am not sure if they will let you activate a new account without a contract but it is worth a try

How about another option, Sprint.

We are starting to see their 4G service come online in the area. It is pretty solid where I work and comes and goes at home (testing?). The Evo and Epic look like pretty solid phones

Thoughts?

I would choose verizon (been with them forever) because they have costumer service skills:) I would also consider sprint, but they piggy back off verizon towers in areas like NY, so if that doesn't bother you, another good network.
