I have a Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro.
I moved data (not apps) from Internal 32gb HDD to SD card, but Internal HDD is not showing the 7gb reduction. Any ideas please?

G'day and thank you for your responses.
I have actually been unclear with describing my situation.
I did not (intentionally) move app data, but may have.
All I did move intentionally was 7gb of images, videos, mp3s, etc.
==================================
* I have Powered Off & Restarted - no change
* How did you move the data? Using the Settings>Apps menu?
* I used one of the file management apps to move the files
* What do you mean by data? Some of the apps data? (Great question.) See intro to this reply.
Thank you again,
Fur

Not clear on did u move app Data to SD card ? You might end up doing factory reset.
Best thing is keep SD card as portable storage if you try use it as internal it going give issues as it doesn't have the write speeds as internal storage and can cause freezes , get corrupt etc..

Based on your previous info, you moved pictures, videos and music data to an SD card. That is usually the data that takes up the most space and safest to store on an SD card. When you look at your internal storage files & folders in your file management app, does it show that that pictures videos & music are no longer there? Could it be possible that the files were copied to the SD card instead of moved to the SD card?

What method are you using to look at the space used in the internal storage vs the space in the SD card? The phone's settings menu -> storage or via the PC? Does it show that there are 7gb more data in the SD card? Is it possible that the method you're using to analyze the space is calculating combined storage of both internal & SD storage?

Worst case scenario, you could continue to save important data (pics, videos, music, documents, downloads, etc) to your SD card and back up all your important data and do a factory data reset.

You were all partly right. :-)
Thank you for your help.

- Yes, I (tried to) move pictures, videos and music data to an SD card
- Yes, the files app that I used on the phone COPIED (not moved) the files to SD card (very unclear)
- I connected the phone to my PC, which has made it much easier to see internal and SD contents
- Went back to the Files app and I found something called a "Bin" LOL - that's where a GB's worth data was sitting
- Not really sure if I need to wipe the cache or not - we'll see

I'm now on the right track.

Thank you again.
