Android Central Question

That’s it….After many years with android phones I bought the iPhone 13 mini and that is because no android phone maker produce small phones any more. The android phones are getting bigger each year and the latest normal-sized phone(for me) is the iPhone 13 mini-small and powerful.I prefer android even now. There are many advantages in favour of android.I wish there was a small AND powerful android phone.I am sure a lot of people will be happy to have one.

Welcome to Android Central! I guess you could've gone for the Balmuda Phone: https://www.theverge.com/2021/11/16/22784878/balmuda-phone-announced-specs-price-toaster-japan. I'm just not sure if it works outside of Japanese networks.

I don't know how old you are, but just wait -- as your eyes get older, you'll need bigger and bigger screens.:p I look at my wife's old iPhone 4S that we still have lying around, and I wonder how she ever read anything on that postage stamp.

I have a Fold3 and an iPhone 12 Pro Max. Im the exact opposite: the bigger the screen, the better for me. But, as a matter of fact, I'm considering buy the next iPhone Mini to carry on when I just don't want so much weight in my pockets.

Same here. I have absolutely no idea now how I ever used Blackberry devices. LOL

That's why Samsung makes the Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G, it's an Android 6.7 inch screen phone that folds in half like the old flip phones, and comes with all the fastest flagship hardware currently available. So that sounds like the small and powerful Android phone you're looking for. Folded I'm sure it's smaller than the iPhone mini, and you can find sales on them for $850 or so, and much better deals with trade-ins. I'm not sure how much the iPhone 13 mini costs, but I imagine it might be in the same basic price range?

So if you prefer Android, there's at least one option that meets your requirements ;)

I guess a good question is why is a large phone a deal breaker? I agree they are getting big, and wish they would come back to about 5.3 ish inches, but I have found ways to work around the height of the screen. Gestures on Nova launcher help a lot.

Welcome to Android Central! I totally understand what you are saying. As someone who prefers smaller smartphones with flagship- or sort-of-flagship-level specs, it's a tall order to get all that in a smaller phone! My Pixel 5 thankfully fits the bill -- but if iOS works for you, that's awesome! You gotta use what's right for you!

The bigger the phone the better. Especially as I get older. It's the only piece of tech with a screen that I have, apart from my laptop and tv that watch occasionally. I don't have a tablet as I know I would leave it at home the majority of the time.

I also prefer a larger phone. So long as it fits into my back pocket or into my front right phone pocket on my parkas it is A-OK for me. My 4XL feels small, so hopefully, going to the S22U.

I too judge my phones by whether or not they can fit into pockets -- but those are my purse pockets! That's why I prefer smaller phones. The S22U sounds cool, for sure!

That's funny because I see lots of women in the grocery store whose purses are bigger than my 15" laptop bag. I carry a small purse, but I keep my phone in my pocket when I'm out and about so I'm able to feel the vibrations and can grab it quickly.

My purses (I have a sickness!) definitely range in sizes, but I always put my phones in my zipper compartments; so the phones need to be smaller. Your way is much easier though, as when my phone goes off and it's in my purse, getting to that zipper could be a chore!

That's why I don't put my phone in a zippered compartment in my purse. :)
