Hi everyone

Just got my Nexus on Tuesday and I'm loving it. One thing that I'm keen to do though is to get some movies on there other than Transformers. As far as I can tell Google Play doesn't seem to sell movies, it just rents them (Am I right?)?
The only other option as far as I know is to rip DVDs, so does anyone know of a piece of free ripping software that they recommend?

Any help is much appreciated :)

I am UK based if that makes any difference....

They sell movies. But not all the movies in the Play store are available for purchase, just some of them. Also I think when I used the DPI mod, it caused me not to see any movies for sale from my Nexus 7. Play store sure gets flaky sometimes.

PS. Also they have separate prices for SD and HD movies (seems stupid) and the HD versions are pretty pricey.

I don't know if it's any different due to licensing in the UK, but I can confirm that, at least in the US, you can purchase movies from the Play store - though not all movies that are available for rental are also available for sale. Purchased movies can also be downloaded for offline viewing, though be aware it will take a fair chunk of your available memory.

As to software for ripping DVD / Blu-ray, I picked up PavTube which works extremely well, with pre-configured settings for HD conversion specifically for the Nexus 7 (and just about any other mobile device you could name). Remember, of course, to abide by all applicable laws should you choose to do this. E.g., locally, I can rip a copy of a disc that I own (not rent) for my further personal use only.

Cheers people, think I'm going to get some ripping software as it seems easier to manage and cheaper that way.

Cheers ICEMAN, that's what I've been looking at and it seems to tick all the boxes.

Thanks again
