Moving apps to SD and application data

I have noticed quite a significant bug in moving apps over to SD in Froyo. Thinking that I finally had enough space for me to tolerate for the Nook app, I downloaded it and moved it to my SD card. However, I saw that 12-13 MB persisted on the phone's internal memory, and when I uninstalled the Nook app directly from the SD card, those 12-13 MB were also removed. This is not just isolated to the Nook app, as moving the Flixster Movies app to the SD card moved just 2 MB rather than the entire 5 MB it consumes. Doesn't this sorta defeat the purpose of moving apps to the SD card, especially in the case of Nook (which should be castigated for false advertising of required space)?

yeah the froyo apps to SD card method is not the favorite of a lot of people. it was a trade off google had to make, so they went with leaving the card as FAT32 and only moving some of the app data to the card.

the real way, the one most people like and prefer (in cyanogen ROMs for example), is to partition the card with lets say 512mb of space into ext partition, and the full app gets moved onto that part. but google couldnt really have general users dealing with all that as its too difficult for the average person.
