Hi all, new to forum, moved all my photos from s7 to laptop, I have tried to move 4 pictures back via bluetooth, two are in my gallery, the other two for some reason are elsewhere, even though I moved tham all at the same time and a search shows they are on s7 but not in gallery, how do I find the location and move them to the gallery? all help and advice appreciated

Welcome to Android Central! Use a file manager app (like My Files or a 3rd party one like Files by Google or Total Commander) to look through the various user-accessible directories. Start by looking at the details of the photo that you can see in the Gallery app to find out what directory it's in, and then use the file manager to look in that directory to see if the other image files are there.

Files don't "go to" Gallery. Gallery is an app, it does something. In this case, it shows you the pictures listed in the Media Scan database, which gets updated when you start (pr restart) the phone, when you take a picture, etc. Or when you run an app like media.Re.Scan.It does not update when you copy files from somewhere else. So you have to restart the phone or run media.Re.Scan to update the database, then run Gallery and you should see them.

thanks Rukbat, tried media.re.scan, have selected 'image', run start mediascan, restarted and photos showing in my files but not ingallery, excuse my ignorance but where have I gone wrong?

Were you able to see if the images are all in the same directory?
