Mr Mobile U 11 review

I am not sure if I like the review. It felt like there is substance missing in the review and not doing enough justice on the key components like the main camera, battery, edge sense and other features except for the earphones.

I mean, he said himself in the review that battery lasts for the entire day and yet the battery is not good enough? And still recommends S8 which has the same battery capacity?

He says Edge Sense is a gimmick yet recommends S8 which has more gimmicks (using the word as he refers to features as gimmicks) than U11.

If U11 name sounds bad, what about G6 or Z in Moto?

Also he downplayed the assistant wake up word, that is, waking up your phone with 'Ok Google' or 'Alexa' keyword. That doesn't work in other flagship phones except for Pixel. So at least he could have stated of this is what you are looking for, U11 has that feature for you.

I feel like this particular review is sorta incomplete. May be we will get a better review later....

Yeah very unlike him, even the initial hands on he wasn't that excited. May be just smartphone fatigue.

I pay zero attention to reviews, if I had I would have never gotten the honor which is in my top 5 phones. you have to trust that the review has no bias and we all know that everyone has bias towards things. it will come out in the review. Had ATT not screwed me on my bill for 6 months straight. I would have waited for this phone to switch, while I really like my Galaxy S8 HTC just builds solid phones, sure the sense might not be refreshed. That is one thing die hard HTC fans go for, I enjoy sense it adds enough to not be stock but it doesn't overwhelm you like Samsung does.

I feel like they are kinda overlooking the U11. But this is still better than the Android Central review. The guy sounded like he was struggling just to get the whole thing over with. No mention of the special features like the focused recording. At least Michael mentioned it.

Andrew who reviewed the phone for AC was much more positive than Michael. In fact Andrew even mentioned in the AC podcast that he liked the phone very much.

He's the first one to criticise the battery life, right?

And yeah, not a great review from him. I am utterly convinced this is one of the greatest phones of this entire year.

Michael Fisher aka Mr Mobile review. Not very positive review, overall decent but nothing stands out.

You can definitely sense that he isn't the biggest fan of the device but is trying to provide a neutral perspective. I do agree that the name is a little 'off' and I loved when HTC went from One M8, One M9 to just simply 10. They should have continued with the simplicity and not added a new letter. 😃

I still enjoyed listening to the review and at least he mentioned some of the standout features but could have payed more attention to the 'ok google' wake up feature.

I'm personally a big fan of the U11 and feel it needed a little more love in the review. But, we don't have to praise everyday device that gets launched and sometimes bad reviews help OEMs to improve next time 😃

I actually didn't like this review. (A first from Mr.mobile)
The u11 actually keeps apps in memory unlike some other phones. Plus, the display being that way with capacitive buttons is better for me than having screen bezels every time I want to watch a video. And those lovely speakers; they alone are a vety big plus because they are used on a daily bases.
i gotta say, try this phone at a store. Some of this phone's downs are ups for others, and vice-versa.

At the very least he was honest. He was underwhelmed by the phone. And to be honest, the front of that device is hard to look at IMO.

Strictly speaking performance, I'm sure it's great, which he goes on to say. There's no accounting for taste. Just like any phone, some folks will like it. Others won't.

Well, here's the thing.

A review is a subjective account of a person's experience with a product.

Not everyone is going to be impressed, and everyone will have different reasons on why they like or dislike a device.

True. A good review will articulate that and set expectations which I didn't feel with this particular review. Even the starting intro tone is set to disappoint anyone watching the review.

But yeah, it's his opinions and I totally respect that too.

Personally, I think the HTC U11 is the best phone this year so far. No weird screen curves to draw annoying reflections and get scratched up and it's certainly a better phone than the LG G6.

Lol it's amazing how ppl were complaining that HTC had on-screen buttons when it did and now that it doesn't ppl are complaining because it doesn't... I never wanted to agree when I saw ppl say HTC can't win but I think I'm starting to see that they can't win with ppl

HTC would have won with people if the front of the U11 would have matched with the awesome back of the U11. Imagine how nice the front would have looked with an AMOLED and curved, nearly bezelless display.

HTC couldn't win... If they would've done that ppl would've complained because they would've sacrificed their good audio and even more ppl would be saying HTC has lost their identity... At this point no one can do curved screen or they'll be labeled a Samsung copier...
