Don't name it with a .zip

Windows is probably hiding the .zip extension. By adding it yourself. you're making it .zip.zip

I didn't.

Try and download the file again and rename it as instructed. But, as I said, do not put .zip at the end as that's the common problem. I understand that you didn't do it originally, but you never know. :)

I'm not sure if this matters, but it is in your root folder, correct? (The root folder is just the main folder)

Yes I dropped it in root folder. I'm gonna try adding the.zip just to see
Heading to work now so will try in a bit. Fwiw it has a box icon next to it when I look at astro

make sure to check md5 as well. root is on the sd card, not in any of the folders on the sd card.

Dropped directly on sd, not in any folders. The name I see is PG05IMG.

I'm trying to rule out any possible issues that you may be having. Where did you download the update from? I've attached a link to the website I used to download the MR2 update and even used the instructions provided. Also, please remember to use the Multi-Upload (Direct Link, top option) to download the file. I would assume each download is identical, but I'm only telling you this as I used the top option.

The file says to use an extension type of .zip. We've already had this discussion before and you've said that it's all fine on that end. But, try naming it with a .zip if you haven't. You could always change the settings on Windows [which version do you have?] to show file extensions. Once you move it to the SD Card, you should just be in the main root screen. I do believe you may have to click a button once it loads the update to confirm you want this action to happen. I could be incorrect, but I could of sworn that I had to confirm the action.

So if I'm rooted with a custom rom, bamf 1.7, and I want MR2 I need to flash a new rom, lose all my data and get the new radio?

that sucks I hate losing everything I have set up. Is there any other way, I need the reboots to stop

I'm not familiar with the rooting scene, but I could of sworn that they had an MR2 (or 2.5) radio. But as I said, I'm not familiar and maybe someone could provide some sort of clarification.

I will start over and try this. Thanks!

On that specific download, you don't need to add .zip. It's already a .zip file.
