My backup cell phone is dead. I am thinking of changing networks, from at+t to tmobile. One advantage they have is I can get a data only plan ($30 per month) for my cell while most companies try to force you to buy fone and data plans. I will use VOIP to send/receive calls. I can get unlimited calls for $10 using VOIP.
My questions are:
1. How good has VOIP tech improved over cell fones? I have done some limited testing with my ipod touch and was able to send/receive calls with no problem
2. How good is the mytouch 4g? From what I have read online, it has gotten stellar reviews. It supports Flash and netflix app will be coming soon to android. How good is the speaker fone and videoconferencing with skype?
3. How good is the tmobile data service in chicago? Any major market where the service is bad?
4. How good is tmobile's 4g? I think at CES they announced they will be boosting its speed.
5. Is there a download limit to their unlimited data plan? How much data does a VOIP call make?
6. I could get a 5 inch android 4g tablet and use it as a fone via VOIP. Any rumored coming to tmobile soon?
Please reply ASAP as I plan to make the purchase soon. Thx
