Muffled voice on speaker?

Has anyone with a Bionic had people tell them they sound "muffled" when on speaker phone? I've heard the description of "like you're in a tin can", "you sound really distant."

I have a TPU case on my Bionic. I took it off and asked if I sounded better and the anwer was I sounded "normal." I put on a different (hard plastic) case and they said it was "tin can" again.

Anyone else have problems with a case on the Bionic affecting the mics? If so what did you do to fix it? :-\

be sure not to cover the two tiny noise cancellation mics. there are a total of three mics, IIRC>

Where are these located? I notice the obvious mic at the bottom of the screen. Then, there in something on the back bottom and back top (centered, slightly above and to the right of the camera area.)

If these are the ones you mention, my two cases had openings in those places. For some reason, the case must disrupt things. Has anyone with the extended battery Vz case noticed problems - that case has a major air space around the openings. Maybe this is the secret???

they are top and bottom, exactly in the center (left to right).

I have the shell/holster case. everyone likes the sound of the phone when I speak, unless I'm way too far away, when using speaker phone mode.

The shell/holster case you refer to - is that the one for the extended battery?

I have one of those and I notice there is a lot of "air space" around the speaker and the little ports on the back. Maybe that makes the difference?

Yup. I use it with both the std and ext batteries. AAMOF, since I wanted a holster-type case, I figured I might as well fill that empty space with a larger battery.

I'll have to check this out tomorrow. It would be nice to have good sound with an extended battery as a bonus. I went to stock battery so I could get a case that was other than black. But, I'll trade the color case for good sound any day. Thanks for your input.

I got a soft white case thru Amazon for under $6, including shipping. I use it about 1/2 the time.
