Well, there are AOSP 4.4 ROMs available, so if they're rooted they could have "updated" to one of those.

Nope, should be a one time fix. It's just a glitch in the update process.

You are the bomb!! that update constantly was a PITA.

regarding the Keyboard, my experience has been:
go to "Setting, My Device, Language & Input, Keyboards & Input Methods click Default, Select Samsung keyboard. Then go back. If you have "Google Voice Typing" checked it will over ride other settings.

hi i have galaxy s4 and i accepted downloading and installing SOFTWARE UPDATE twice in last 12 hrs..one was more than 700 mb and other was around 150 mb...now it has started downloading again right after i installed and rebooted the system...i dont know what the **** is going on? please help
