I may be the minority but I find multi-window to be a quite useful feature. I actually use it quite a bit to play music via Youtube and toggle between other media apps. The issue I have is when taking the Youtube app into multi-window. The media will continue to play in multi-window but if i press the home button or another app it automatically shrinks to a floating shortcut cutting the media off instantly. Is there a way to keep this from happening?

You can hold the recent apps button and it will allow multi window.

I think YouTube will only play media if it is being actively used so when you minimize it in multi window it's going to act as if you left the app to do something else. I don't believe YouTube will run in the background like Pandora or Google play music - it's going to assume you're using it to view a video so if you aren't watching it's going to pause until you open it again.

Try a different app such as listen on repeat or float tube.
