Multi window

This morning I was going between a few apps. Every time I'd hit the recent apps button that brings up the scrollable tab of recent apps, the phone asks me if I want to setup multi window. I don't, but it keeps asking each time I go to another window. Any way to stop that?

I figure it's a default assistant setting for the new phone

I think that I only happens when you press and hold the square. Just tap it. Also, after you tap the square, if you touch the multi window on the cards that show up, the phone will also think you are trying to use multi window.

Also, go to Settings - Advanced Features - Multi-Window and disable "Use Recents Button.

Oddly enough the overhelpful tip disappeared I went in and was doing stuff with various recent apps the same way as earlier this morning and I didn't have that pop up anymore.
