Hi All, Gary here.

My wife and I have just acquired our Nexus 7s, we're completely new to tablets so on a steep learning curve on all fronts...there a lot I need to learn :-)

Right first problem:

I can't get any multiplayer games to work. I've tried so far: Earth and Legend, Two Player Reaction, Gin Rummy Free. All the games run OK they just won't connect.........
Blue tooth setup OK both machines paired. Wifi works otherwise.

Any help appreciated.
Anyone any Ideas?

"2 Player Reactor is a fast, clean and funny reaction game for two players on the same device."

to play Earth and Legend you both need to in the same wifi. just try one method

I don't know about the games you've listed, but my husband and there kids have great fun playing Minecraft PE together.

I'd be interested to see a list of other good multi-player games, so I'll be keeping an eye on this thread. :)

Gun Bros Multiplayer looks nice. I played regular Gun Bros, I can't begin to imagine how fun it would be in multiplayer. I believe it's cross-platform, so you can beat that Apple fanboy with your Nexus 7.

"2 Player Reaction, best WIFI-game there is!
***Major Update! New name, new game modes, new gameplay functions! FULL GAME WITHOUT COMMERCIAL!***
This is a game where speed, reflexes and skill is all that is important. Play against a friend on separate phones over WIFI (WIFI games DO work) and let the Mayhem begin! "

...I can't get that game to work in multiplay. It wants an IP address and port number and I ain't got a clue were I'd find them.

Earth and legend cannot detect other devices in multiplayer mode (we are on the same wifi) although it is quite good in single player anyway. If anyone knows of a fix?

we finally got the Gin Rummey free connected via bluetooth, it took several goes. Not bad, I'd give it 2 stars.

Thanks for the pointer Moira, will give minecraft a go.
Eduardo: I'll give gun bros a go too if it's a free one.
:)

Playing multiplayer with the family was one of the factors in buying 2 Nexus 7s. Finding decent multiplayer games that work would be good.......Any other recommendations?

to get the devices ip address go to the routers setting or

go to settings->about tablet-->status-->Ip address

OK.

After much experimenting and a visit to a switched on IT friend (and fellow Nexus 7 owner) I've reached the following conclusion: Some apps don't work at all on the N7 (as indicated on the sticky thread above). Some apps work but not fully and the part most likely not to work is the wifi connection needed for 2 player games, too many different protocols. The N7 uses an IP address.

....Oh well the search is on

You should really try X-Plane 9. It's basically a multiplayer flight simulator. Like Gun Bros Multiplayer, you can play with an Apple device. It's free for Android, but five dollars for Apple devices.
