Multiple downloads in Market on EViO ROM

I'm using the EViO 2 v1.8 ROM and have noticed a slight problem. Whenever I download multiple apps at the same time from the Market (such as when I press "Update All"), download speeds slow to a crawl, both on WiFi and 3G. When I let it rest for 30 seconds after a multiple download, however, the speed comes back up to normal. I can already guess the problem is in the Market, but I don't know whether it's an app conflict or whether the Market app is defective. If someone has an idea of what is going on, please let me know.
