Multiple issues since 5.1.1 update

Build 23.4.A.0.546

eeuk handset came with 5.0.2, worked superbly
Updated to 5.1.1 early Aug 2015. Multiple issues since (see below)

when handset not in use;
multiple apps opening in background (up to 15 sometimes) - frequently
flight mode activating - rarely
flashlight activating - rarely
location activating - frequently
calls made - several times

when using handset;
keyboard popping up when searching contacts - several times
screen unresponsive - several times
handset uncomfortably hot - frequently
proximity recognition (screen waking when not at ear) unreliable - frequently

unfortunately my new (and previously impressive) toy has become a very expensive paperweight. I have had to return to my previous handset (galaxy S3) which has broken glass.
Anybody have workarounds for these or any news on minor releases?

Wow. I have none of those problems. Would try a master reset and turn off tap to wake.

Also, none of those issues, mine works just fine.
You could also have a rogue app operating.
As Quantify suggests, a factory reset might just solve it
