Multiple Problems with S20+ 5G

I've upgraded to an S20+, I have had it since a few weeks after it launched.

I have started to have problems.

  • When people call me about 60% of them don't come through and it goes straight to voicemail/unable to connect call.
  • When I am on the phone my internet completely stops working until I end the call.
  • Whatsapp video calls don't always come through.
  • Now I have noticed a new issue, when I take a picture on my camera I am unable to send it through snapchat, messenger, whatsapp etc. But if somebody sends me a picture I can send it back?

I am starting to get stressed with the issues as it seems to be getting worse. I am currently waiting to start live chat with Samsung to see what they say.

Anybody had these issues?


Edit: Images seem to send with WiFi disabled, it is a new router so I'm suspecting there is something going on there. The other issues with calls and internet cutting out are long-term though.

A lot of that sounds like network/service issues.

Is this an unlocked phone or carrier phone and what carrier do you use?
 
Sorry guys should of included that -

Operator is GiffGaff (uses the o2 network) in the UK. Phone is unlocked & bought directly from Samsung. Their support told me to wipe the sim contacts and boot my phone in safe mode - can't see that fixing much. I've tried the guidance from my operator in trying to refresh the network access points etc. I have just ordered a new sim in case this is faulty (seemed fine in my s8 though).
 
Safe Mode is definitely something to try, since it can narrow the issue down to something you installed vs something about the system itself.
 
I'm going to try replacing the sim when it arrives it should be here tomorrow. I'm also going to go round my parents and see if the problem replicates on their wifi. If it doesn't then I know where the issue lies regarding the wifi problem. No idea if I'll ever solve the calls and internet though lol..

You have the Samsung Galaxy S20 5G Global Exynos device running on GiffGaff an MVNO of the O2 network, here in the U.K.

I am currently using GiffGaff in my second SIM slot of my Ultra 5G model with no issues. Like yourself, I cannot receive a 5G signal on GiffGaff where I am.

These are my GiffGaff APN settings (Hope they show up)

If you are just using the one SIM make sure it is in the first SIM slot that goes into the phone, (furthest from the outside), and that you have SIM 1 selected on your device for Calls, Messages and Data in, "SIM card manager".

I did however, have to replace my 6 year old GiffGaff SIM card.

(N.B. Unfortunately VoWiFi and VoLTE are not supported on GiffGaff currently)

All of my settings are exactly the same as that, I have swapped my number over to a new sim that I received today. I haven't had chance to see if it has solved any of the issues yet though.I think we will be waiting a while for any decent 5G from Giffgaff or o2 unfortunately.

In regards to my problem with the Wifi and not being able to send images, I went to my parents earlier and it worked fine. So it has something to do with these new routers from Sky. There seems to be quite a lot of people having problems with them though.
