Hi , have just purchased the G5 and cannot for the life of me work out how to transfer music from my computer to the phone or photos from the phone to the computer . Can anyone please help ? Many thanks ..

Did the phone come with a USB 2.0 to USB-C cable? I hope so... since the G5 is USB-C. Connect the phone to the computer, and in your notification you might see a "For Charging Only", change that to "File transfer" and it should pop up as an external drive.

Hi , thanks for your reply . I presume the USB cable is the one you said ? I changed it to file transfer in notifications and the auto play box appeared on screen . When I tried to drag and drop an album into the music folder in the G5 section on the left of the screen nothing happened ?

Did the files get copied over? Windows treats it just like any other external drive, so you should be able to navigate through it.

I could drag the file across but it did not transfer to the device . I downloaded a program called mobile go and got a free 5 day trial and managed to put quite a few albums on the phone . But I still want to work out how to do it normally . Thank you for your reply .

When the auto play box pops up, select file manager... From there, you should be able to go into the windows explorer file manager and see you phone under My Computer.

Expand that, and you should see a file structure with things like Android, DCIM, Download, etc. There should be a music folder in there.

When I had my G4 it didn't play well with my PC until I picked PTP.
