Music Controller with Pixel 3 XL

[Android Central Question]

I have the pixel 3 xl and the Gear Sport. Is there any way to control music on my watch like skip tracks music etc.

For example, when at the gym I bring my phone with me and use wireless headphones. And I use to control my music through my apple watch. Is there anyway to do this on the gear sport? It use to work on my gear sport, I'm wondering if it's because the pixel??? I use the spotify app.
