Music disappeared from default music app! HELP!

I transferred all of my photos from my phone to an external hard drive & now my music has disappeared. Please help. Someone recommend downloading this app called jetaudio because it has the ability to find your music on your phone no matter where it's hiding & it didn't work or my music is completely deleted. I've tried downloading new music from apps & it says they've successfully downloaded but when I go to the default music player they're not there.

Welcome to Android Central! Where are the music files stored? Internal Storage or a microSD card? Can you find them using MyFiles or some other file manager app?
