I have a new Pixel 3a XL (Android version 9) that I've paired with my Mazda3, however the song tracks and artists are not displaying on my car screen as it did with my previous 2 phones. I've tried 3 different music players. How is it that a new Google phone would have less capabilities than my LG G4 and Samsung Galaxy S3, both old phones? Is there a setting that I need to change?

Thanks!

Not new - different. The phone uses the latest Bluetooth protocols, the Mazda radio doesn't. This happens with every new phone, every new car - Bluetooth is constantly evolving.

See if your Mazda dealer's service department has any updates for the radio.

You might try enabling developer options then going back to Bluetooth 1.3. Solved a couple Bluetooth issues for me
