Music Player in background

I'm new to android and I typically use my IPOD Touch in the Gym. I can use my music app in the background while working out and still have my gym buddy app open to write down my reps and sets etc. So with Android, it looks like JEFIT is the app that most resembles the Gym Buddy app, my question is , is there a music player that will play in the background while I run other apps like JEFIT or surf the net etc.

Welcome to the forums, the built in music player should work just fine. Background apps are one of Androids best features imo.

I use RunKeeper and use the stock music player works just fine.

do you use an app to sync music onto your phone. I saw with winamp you can wirelessly sync your music. Any recs there?

I was initially excited about Goodle Music and signed up for an invitation which I received about a week later.

After I read all of the fine print and became much less enthusiastic.

First of all, I am not a Google hater in the least, in fact I applaud them for the tremendous success and innovation they have achieved.

However, the details of how my music would be moved to the cloud and essentially become the property of Google plus the frequent references to the fact that the service was free for a "limited" time led me to conclude that I would turn down their kind invite.

The concept of streaming music from my home computer to my EVO is alluring and there are some other options that report to do it including Orb Live which until the latest Android update had a system that did just that. They said they would have a new free App soon.
