I have many CD's that I'd like to import into a player for my S21 Ultra. I know about all the streaming services. Years ago I used itunes and loved it. But I am now an Android user and that library of music is gone. What apps are you folks using?

I use a mix of Smart Audiobook Player and VLC for playing my own library of music. VLC for when I want its more flexible playlist management.

My wife and I use Samsung Music Player on our Galaxy Tab As and her Galaxy S21+ (my phone isn't a Samsung). It seems to work well based on the few times we have used it. But we are not power user by any means, just select an album and play it.

I use the free Fairstairs CD Ripper utility on my laptop. Done all my 200 odd contemporary music CDs but not got round to doing my classical collection. But that uses the CD drive built into my laptop. I assume it would work with an external drive too.

Got copies of my ripped library on my laptop, tablet, phone, old MP3 player (that one bulk converted from ripped FLAC to smaller MP3 files) and a USB button memory plugged into my car radio.

Takes a while but I just do a stack while I am watching TV of an evening, taking about 5/10 minutes per CD.

and how have you imported CD's to it? I have a DVD player connected to my laptop via USB.

I ripped all of my thousands of CDs a few years ago via Windows Media player. First ripped them to .WAV files (non-compressed, large), then ripped to .MP3 for playing on almost any device (at high bit rate 320 kbps, smaller than .WAV).

The .wav files were all stored on a backup drive for posterity. The MP3 files were then run through mp3Tag program to tag the cover to each album; therefore when it was playing (poweramp on my phone, my head unit in my trucks) the album cover is displayed.

Then I downloaded the MP3s to my phone and to a couple USB sticks for my trucks as well as keeping a back up copy of them as well as a working copy on my laptop. Occasionally, I add to the files with purchased of MP3s from Amazon, etc.

I use Exact Audio Copy to rip my CDs to WAV or FLAC, then I use Poweramp to play them on my phone.
