Music problem

As a relatively new Nexus user I need some help please. Having connected the device to my laptop I managed to transfer photos but I have experienced a problem with music. I successfully
transferred some music files and these files are stored on the Nexus but it wont let me play them. Can anyone throw some light on this problem ?

Hi, thanks for your interest.
The files on the PC are Windows Media Audio File (.wma). On the tablet Play Music does not recognise the files but I have found them using ES File Explorer and tried to play them without success using AMP.
Any suggestions ?

wma is not supported by android. its microsoft's format. use some music player

. I have now downloaded to my pc a program which converts wma files to mp3 and this has solved the problem.

Correct.....and while you are auditioning full featured music players, may I suggest PowerAmp? If it is a music file, it will play it.
