Music skipping and microphone problem

Hello I have a problem with my new Huawei P20 it started with the problem of weird sound while recording I thought it was only on Whatsapp voice notes but even on calls no one could hear me it seemed simple to restart the phone this seemed to fix the problem but it persisted still when I record I get a weird alien voice, then it came to the music the music keeps on skipping with the song close to finishing it happens at random times other times its worse where every song skips after less or more than a minute I figured it's software bases problem I assume.

Welcome to Android Central! Booting into Safe Mode would be helpful, if the problem is being caused by an app you installed (and Safe Mode temporarily disables all apps that were not preinstalled). But it's possible the P20 doesn't have Safe Mode -- I couldn't find any steps for it on the web, and I vaguely recall someone mentioning here that the P20 or P10 didn't have it. I tried going into safe mode it doesn't really help since I can't access any apps not even music so I can't evaluate whichever app may cause the problem

Did the phone come with any music app, or did you have to install it yourself? Any preinstalled app ought to work in Safe Mode ...

It came with pre-installed music players they don't work in safe mode even just to play a song doesn't work

That's odd. The music you're trying to play is saved to Internal Storage, and not the SD card, right?

It's internally stored the phone doesn't have a SD card slot

I know how to perform the hard reset but I'd like to leave that as a last resort honestly

Those aren't steps to do a hard reset -- those are steps to get into the Recovery Menu, and from there you can select Wipe Cache Partition (which only clears out temporary system data, not any of your personal data). The website itself is called hardreset.info, but they have more info than just how to hard reset devices.
