The music skips when I play it in my car and sometimes it doesn't. How can I fix this?

I formatted the card and copied everything from the PC like I was told.

It is an intermittent problem.

hey all...been lurking but I registered just to throw in my 2 cents on this thread and hopefully get some help.

I am having problems with music skipping as well. This only happens when I hook it up to my car using the line in jack. Not only does the music skip but the voice dialier app will randomly start up and in some cases actually dial people. This has not been a problem until recently. Does anyone have any solution to this? I have put quite a bit of music on my Dinc and have become very dependant on it during rides in the car.

Did you put a dime on the tone arm?

Sorry - I could not resist. The inner AV geek won out.

But seriously, I'm not sure why the music would skip unless vibrations are shaking the sd card, but even then those must be some vibrations.

There was a video of the skipping in a video here http://www.androidcentral.com/pro-tip-dont-put-your-htc-droid-incredible-metal

It looked like putting the phone on metal caused it to do that. Maybe your phone is on some metal and it has this issue?

Have you tried disconnecting the bluetooth connection and then reconnecting, something like that happened to me once. and then magically it worked like normal again

I have tried that. It was doing it to me yesterday morning on my way home from work. After being home for about an hour I ran out to best buy and it worked fine. Then on the way home from best buy it was fine as well. On the way into work last night I had the skipping issue. I then grabbed a cup of coffee and finished my trip in to work where it worked fine. Each time I turned off the bluetooth and turned it back on. Weird if you ask me.

Maybe it doesn't like going to work, or from it ;)

Skipping while using bluetooth is the same problem I had when I first got mine. Turns out on mine I had to turn off wifi while traveling. The wifi trying to sync with wireless routers as I drive past them would cause my BT to pause repeatedly. I found the skipping to be worse in urban areas and nearly nonexistent when driving on the interstate in rural areas.

Others have found GPS always on to affect theirs, but that's not been an issue for me.

What seems to be happening is the phone thinks a headset is connected and receives signals that trigger the "next track" action or the voice dialer. There's another thread that discusses the issue, but no solutions:
