Music sounds choppy

Hey all, just got my Nexus last week and promptly dumped 9 gig of music on it (I work in basement, barely get 3G signal).

I'm using PlayerPro, same app I used on my DX, but my music sounds choppy. Not sure if it's the app, the files, or the phone. Anybody having similar playback issues?

Side note relating to my music files: I created a .nomedia file in the root of my Music folder but the Photo Gallery still adds the album covers to the gallery. Any ideas how I can get these removed?

Have you tried using the native player? I know you may not like it as well as PlayerPro, but if you don't have any choppy playback, that would indicate it's related to your current app.

I'm listing to Google Music now using the same local music files and I don't see any improvement. When I put my head near the speakers I hear a lot of background crackling going on.

To give more info: I'm running plain Dell office speakers in my office. I have them plugged right into the phone. I do have some background noises, but the slight stuttering and choppiness is still apparent.

I have a similar problem. I have been using Google Music and thought maybe it had something to do with how it was formatting the songs. I uploaded the same file directly to the phone instead of using Google Music. Oddly enough, I have other songs in the same format that sound just fine. When I played back the file in question, it still sounded choppy in places, no improvement.

Based on this, I assumed it had something to do with the Android software? Hopefully that's not the case.
