I skipped the 3xl upgrade and after 2 years with my 2xl I thought the 4xl was definitely going to be my next upgrade.

I was paying close attention to the leaks and reading all the potential negative coments about the upcoming Pixel 4/XL. After the phone was released I was watching and reading all the reviews, which were for the most part negative. This turned me off the 4XL and I was looking elsewhere.

Nothing much else caught my eye as I have been a Pixel user from the OG and a Nexus 6p user previously. So I decided to go into the store and try the demo model out for myself. I was immediately sold on the device. The build quality is excellent and all the "negative" aspects of the phone did not outweigh the positives it brought for me personally.

Basically my purpose for this post is to mention that while it is important to read and watch the reviews about any device, please don't have them make the decision for you. You are the one who will be using the device on a daily basis. If it works for you personally than that is all that matters.

Loving my 4XL.

Awesome ,glad your liking it and happy to see more post like this with the pix 4

Glad you're enjoying it! What I find interesting (and a bit dismaying) is that much of the criticism has been leveled at the smaller Pixel 4 (mostly for its poor battery life, and justifiably so, from most reports), while seemingly ignoring the XL. People read all of the bad reviews about the 4 and assume the same must be true for the XL.

Very good point.

I'm in the same boat pretty much. I came from a Pixel 2XL, and jumped on board the Pixel 4XL. It's a great phone, great build quality, and I'm easily getting better battery life than the Pixel 2xl was back when it was new. Only thing I really miss is the fps.

Happy to see you guys enjoying phone .. I'm always following the latest and at the end of the day it's great to see people having a good experience with all the negative stuff going around ..

Think about reviews of other things.

How often do movie reviews match your own impression of a film?

Same applies to phone reviews.

I gave that some thought and decided that if the Pixel 4XL had been selling at the Pixel 4 price I might have considered it longer. At $1000 plus shipping and IVA for me I would have considered it and probably not bought it. The negatives, when compared to what's available, are still too great.

100%.

Same here. I miss the FPS mostly only for my banking apps right now. Hopefully updates in the near future will change that.

Interesting point that I would certainly agree with. (See A Thin Red Line)

Anyway, I read and watched reviews for the HTC U12+. It out performed so many other models and had a lot of good specs, plus it was a rare phone since HTC and Verizon are on the outs. I got it based on reviews and my feelings about HTC and was horribly disappointed. From the day it showed up I never really fell in love with it. Not like I had with other HTC models. It was the first time reviews let me down.

Do you mean that you got fooled by all of the rhapsodically positive reviews of this movie as well? I remember seeing this in the theater and wondering when anything was going to, you know, happen.:p But that's pretty much Malick's M.O., I guess.
