My 20+ app icons are gone. Restarted, no good. They are still installed. Now what?

I updated one of my apps (Google-something I think) and when I got back to the home screen, all my installed apps' icons were missing. Restarted. No joy. I deleted the Cache and restarted. Also no joy. All the apps show they are still installed and running in System/Apps. How do I get them to display without re-installing?:-\

Have you tried going' back to the Play Store and checking " My Apps"?
It may jog your memory as to what app caused the hiccough....you could then try an uninstall/reinstall...toggling may be enough.
