i was moving files last night and it started acting funny, it didn't say any app stopped it just wouldn't launch any app, then today it won't turn on the light comes on for a second and turns back off then nothing, so i took it apart and noticed that the av port had completely unsolderd, then i tryd to hard reset but that also didn't work, probably because of the av port missing, but hard reset probably wouldn't help anyways, the rest of the ports look good, can a missing av port really make it not power on? this is a mbox t95x

ok so i just noticed on the board one of the solder joints has come off, so im gonna try to solder it back on, so it looks like i definitely overheated it, i hope fixing that pin will work

I moved this to the Android TV forum for more specific traffic.

Good luck with the fix!

so i guess in the future i really need a good heat warning app, preferably one that can shut down the box to prevent damage, it does root, do you guys know of a app that can do that?

Overheating shouldn't unsolder port pins, rough handling does that. Trying to resolder the pin with anything more than about a 15 Watt iron can lift thew pad, though. If you want an app, GSam Battery Monitor has temperature alarms (in Preferences/Alarms in the 3 dot menu).

Can an unsoldered A/V port (I assume you mean the HDMI port) keep the box from working? No. But overheating could blow something - or something that blew could be causing overheating. Considering the cost of an MBox, and the cost of repairing one, it's cheaper to replace. (You can get a new T95X on eBay for under $40 - you can't get a repair shop to look at it for that amount.)

I went ahead and got a new box,the cheapest was the a95x f1 and I'm having some issue with it,can I ask here or should I start a new thread

ok my new box is a a95x f1 I'm having quite a few issues with it, my mouse isn't hitting the right spots, screen size does affect it, but if I leave at the default then most of the screen isn't visable, I have a mini keyboard that works with a receiver but it's acting up, the volume goes up and down, the mouse wounders by itself, and it has a micro SD card slot but SD cards don't fit, they slide in but but only about half way
