Back in March I dropped my 6 month old EVO into the toilet at 2 a.m. while drunk texting a booty call. MY bad, so I called Asurion and they charged me the $100 deductible and sent me a new phone 10 days later (they were backordered). The phone I got was OK at first but soon afterwards it started becoming a little slower than my original phone. Then as time progressed it got slower and exhibited very puzzling behavior. I thought I could wait it out until I could upgrade again but I finally had it when I rebooted my phone yesterday and all of a sudden a text message that was sent 4 hours earlier come thorugh on my phone after I had to reboot it.
So I called Asurion and they asked if there was any damage. II admitted I had dropped the phone all of two feet and there was only cosmetic damage in the bottom corner and it was hard to see unless I pointed it out. I explained that the phone has been degrading ever since I got it and I want it replaced. The CS agent told me I would have to pay the $100 deductible since I had dropped, no matter how minor the cosmetic damage was. I kept my cool and explained to him that there was no way the phone's behavior and the cosmetic damage was related but he wouldn't budge. I then told him I was done talking to him and I was calling Sprint to cancel their sorry insurance.
So I called Spirnt and cancelled the insurance. I told the Sprint CS lady why and what had happened to my phone. She asked me if I could hold a couple minutes and I said yes. About 4 or 5 minutes later she tells me they are sending me a new replacement EVO! Today I received a tracking number from Sprint in my email, I checked it and the phone has already been delivered! Two big thumbs up to Sprint! They are good to go in my book! Asurion, well they can kiss my ass!
