I'm looking for some advice on what to do. My Evo is set up exactly like my wife's Evo. I set them both up and have mSsg sure she doesn't have anything strange downloaded or running in the background. I've used the advice by many to extend my battery life so that it easily lasts all day for me. I use my phone very hard. I stream music, watch videos and am on the internet often. My wife rarely uses her phone at all.

This morning we both took them off the charger at the same time. Both had a full charge on them. I have well over half my charge at 2:45 and she had to recharge at noon because of getting the battery warning.

Both our phones are the 002 build and were bought the first sT from Sprint. Any advice on how I should approach Sprint to try and get hers replaced? She hates the phone because of this. I love my phone.

Thanks for any advice.

When she's at work, does she have good coverage? If it's on a weak signal, the phone will try to find a stronger singal while maintaining it's current signal so that will kill the battery faster. And what Widgets does she have turn on/or running? RSS feeds and certain widgets will kill the battery while not even in use.

We've both been at home the past few days and have identical widgets. Other than the HTC weather we don't run anything. We have 4g off as well as WiFi and gps.

Yea I can't put my finger on it, but I can't get a good battery life period. I've tried everything, from having the overclock widget underclock my CPU when the screens off, turning off "Always On Data" <Which after I did that, my phone started resetting itself like crazy..

I can't get 6hrs outta my battery, period. I took my phone off the charger at 11am and its at 50% at 3. So I'm not sure what the hell to do.

I'm not a heavy user, I can be, but on days that Im trying to get longer battery life, I barely use the thing.

My office at work barely gets any service and my phone will literally die after 2-3hrs.. I have to keep a charger at all times, its nuts.

I use my phone WAY heavier than my wife. This morning she used her phone for less than five minutes. I was on mine heavily at least three hours.

It's most likely to be a settings/coverage/phone hardware issue as everyone seems to be focusing on, but it might be instructive to try swapping the batteries between your phone and your wife's phone to see if that changes the battery life you each experience.

I'll try switching the batteries and report back tomorrow. That's a good idea. I forget about that concept coming from the iPhone.

I couldnt tell you why, but doing a factory reset on my Evo made the battery last about 3.5 times longer than it had been.

It sucks putting everything back on there, but you might try it.

Tried switching batteries and that didn't seem to work. I'm going to factory reset my wife's phone. Hopefully that will help.

I did the hard reset on my wife's phone and that seems to have solved her battery life issues. Sheshe has been using it for well over 5 hours today and has about 80% of the battery left. Before the hard reset it would be dead by now.

The only problem was that she now has the issue with the HTC clock /weather widget. I can't get it to auto locate.

I have the problem of battery life sucking. I have done all the "tricks" to get better battery life and nothing helped. The only thing that does is to not use my phone. And how practical is that? I need my phone. I use it for work and personal.

Glad hers is better after the reset. :)

Same with mine and my wife's. My will last me the full day meanwhile her's after 8 hours is begging for a charge. I use mine for a wider spectrum of things, pretty much everything you can think of but don't text as much as she does. That's the bulk of her activities...text messaging and I still get better battery life than she.

She was having a problem with pic attachments and them not opening/freezing and instead moving over to another message thread rather than opening the attachment as it should. Today I did a hard reset in hopes of resolving that pic attachment issue and while we're at it, hopefully we see an improvement in battery life.

My phone is a version 0003 while her's is 0002. Hope all goes well.

I also noticed a significant battery improvement after doing a factory reset. There are some good apps that make a reset not as painful.

For example ASTRO File Manager allows you to back up all your currently installed apps to your SD card for quick restoration after reset.

There is also and app called Bookmarks to SD to backup browser bookmarks.

Just a couple of the ones I used. I am sure there are others...

same thing was going on with my wife's phone and sure enough a factory reset seems to have cleared the issue.

My phone is the same way today I took it off the charger at about 7:30 and by 1:30 or 2 it was pretty much dead... I only went on the market to check for 2 apps and sent about 10 text... Its horrible... But other then that I love the phone..

all you need to do is go into settings and turn off the mobile network then turn it back on a few second later and everything should be fine again

Jeffery, my wife's does the same thing, but that's because she has NO IDEA that when she messes with it or goes places that they are still OPEN and running....

I always clear my phone several times a day and she doesn't know how to... well more like can't learn how to...

How do you know what activity your wife is doing that is just simply more than you??
