My cell service sucks

I had a rumor touch before upgrading to an htc evo 4G and it seems with the new evo the service i get is 10x worse than it was with the rumor. I dont have service at work or at school, the two places i spend most of my time at. I had great service with my rumor at both of these places... Am i doing something wrong? I am rooted if that helps any.

just a root wont affect it but if you have a different rom then the stock Evo one then that is most likely the culprit. some of the roms don't have fully up to date radios you can fix it by flashing a different rom or downloading the radios yourself.

I don't have any service in my house and I am unrooted on 2.3.3. and according to the website I have service here and I don't I have to roam to get service and it still sux ty verizon...I don't get sprint coverage until I get 3 streets away my house

You need to get a hold of sprint and tell them where you live.. I had a few friends that were let out of contracts cause of this issue... Besides sounds like threw other posts that you posted that you wanna be on a different carrier anyway!

I called Sprint after months of horrible service. They told me that there are still outages in the Sprint network affecting me from storms in July-August. That is about the time when service tanked.
Depending on where you are, this may be affecting you.

They told me that ETA on the repair is mid-Nov. Said they will credit me for all the historical issues after the repairs are done.

you might be getting interference from unclosed apps, this is a very common problem on iphones and apparently the htc evo 4g, i know the FB app really screws with the iphone communications but am not sure which apps have the worst affect on the evo 4, ill try to research it a little more and will write an article on my htc evo 4 blog HTC EVO 4 and yes i will post a quick follow up on this thread.

My speeds are terrible. Averaging 250 down and 100 up...pathetic. Click here and sign if you've had it with Sprint. They shouldn't be getting away with this.
